The 33 Project
Good morning from a rainy Manhattan. It’s getting cold and dreary here and it feels like everyone is gearing up for a massively depressing winter. What can we do? There’s still a highly contagious, deadly virus spreading and a population approaching it in a million different ways. I’ve started having difficult conversations about rules and restrictions and how I plan to live my days out the rest of this year and into next. It sucks. But it’s the reality of this world. Some distractions? Ok! Here are today’s three picks:
1/ This is an essential read for any progressive American. I’ve thought a lot about protests and dissent and how to channel rage at the system. I’ve felt all the things. Hopelessness, fear, power, support, emptiness. Truly everything has washed over me in the past 7–9 months. This article feels like a deep exploration of those feelings. Of frustrations and pain and fear. Of trying to see the bigger picture. Of embracing the reality and the nuances of shifting understandings and beliefs. It’s a wonderfully written piece and I cannot recommend it enough.
