The 33 Project
It’s been a slow, uphill climb of a week. But, that’s ok. Trying to be kind and gentle with it. What else can you do? Oh also, I’m sure as hell not interested in making a fool of anyone today. Imagine.
Anyway, some recs for this week! It’s been a fulfilling week of content, that’s for sure. This week’s recs include something for your eyes, ears, and some food for thought.
1/ Eyes: The Value of Remembrance — Bonnie Briant. When I first read the review, about how Briant’s photographs focus on remembrance over the disposable present of todays snaps, I was skeptical. How could this “theme” really be shown through still imagery. But, wow, was I wrong to be a skeptic. The images really do evoke past feeling, a past experience, just the past in general. It’s kind of remarkable.
This beach one is my fav…
2/ Ears: Angèle is a must-listen Belgian born, French pop star. Seriously, she’s really talented and fun and even collaborated with Dua Lipa, so you should at least know her name. She made a “me too” song (Balance Ton Quoi) and it’s actually incredible. I recognize that sentence is silly. She made a song that’s been a rallying cry throughout the “Me Too” movement. The video is funny and powerful and I just really love her. Check it out, here.
