The 33 Project

Just went on the slowest two mile run of my life. I’m trying to run again. It’s not particularly enjoyable. But, I guess it’s good. I’ll keep doing it till I can’t. Hopefully it sticks. Obviously the weather here helps, now that it’s not technically freezing. It’s also kind of that perfect gray, cool today where any type of physical activity is encouraged. I used to love playing soccer on those cool, gray Marin mornings. Wouldn’t ever get too hot. I relish these days before the oppressive heat.

On to this week’s recs!

1/ There’s a new exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum featuring the work of KAWS. The exhibit is controversial for art snobs, I guess. Is his work good? Is it just advertising? Who even is he? Well thanks to this deep dive podcast episode from Artnet, I was able to consider the answers to those questions and so much more. It was actually really interesting learning about Brian Donnelly’s backstory and rise to fame. It’s a good listen. Might have to check out the exhibit.

2/ What’s the Difference is back! I missed my weekly emails from Brette Warshaw wherein I could learn the difference between a balcony and a terrace or the difference between a seal and sea lion. She was on book leave (!!) and has thankfully returned. Highly recommend subscribing for pretty fun emails that will scratch your curiosities.
