The 33 Project

Yesterday in New York we managed to hit as low as 40 degrees, as high as 70 degrees, have a thunderstorm, have rain, have gusty winds and have some actual hail all within about 1–2 hours of time. It’s always encouraging when the weather reflects our collective mental disarray.

As I write this, it’s calm and beautiful and the sun is peaking past blooming trees.

7:30am in the West Village

I’m editing a short documentary on the Keystone Bison and it’s really interesting. I’m learning so much about the land, the evolution of North America and the meat we consume. The doc pushes for transitioning from cattle to Bison meat as our primary source — both for the environment and for individual health. I’ll share updates as they unfold.

Enough about me! On to this week’s recs:

1/ I read the obituary for Giancarlo DiTrapando and it made me kind of sad and also made me think back to when I spent more time on Tumblr and the internet and reading weird posts by aggressive writers.

Toward the end the writer Honor Levy is quoted. She was working with DiTrapano, about to publish through is Tyrant books enterprise. I looked her up and I read her latest post, Cancel Me.

In a first-person sort or ramble she touches on a lot of the thoughts, issues, realities of being a young adult right now. I was struck by…
